Fundraiser - click to enlarge posterYou are warmly invited to the The Tamaraneh Society’s annual “There is enough!” fundraiser event!

Why? To raise funds for the primary and secondary schools we have built in Romano Village, Sierra Leone, West Africa. This event supports the basic education from grades 1-9 for 1100 students.

What is different and exciting about this fundraiser?

Our guests will participate in an interactive evening where we get to know each other and learn West African style! From the beginning, we will participate in a negotiation game to set the tables cooperatively so we can eat together. During the dinner, we will literally build a simulation of the entire school project one piece at a time. As funds come in for teacher salaries, desks, school supplies, school uniforms, sports and arts equipment, library books and other basic needs, the classrooms will arise before our eyes on the walls. Children’s photographs, names and grades will appear, and teachers, administrators, support staff and the school board will take their places in our “Edmonton” version of the Romano Village schools in Sierra Leone. All this will take place in the warm entertainment atmosphere of two fabulous West African music and dance groups will lead us in song and dance and entertain us with skits throughout the evening.
